Used construction machinery – export to Africa

A new machine is not the right investment for every project. A short-term contract, a site that has to start quickly or a limited budget make used construction machinery a sensible option. At MOTTO we select and check used equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, concrete pumps, truck mixers and trucks, and ship it from Türkiye to our customers in Africa. Our main areas of interest are North Africa (Libya, Algeria, Egypt), East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia) and the French-speaking countries of West Africa; we also ship to the Middle East and Central Asia.

How are the listings prepared?

Each listing gives the machine’s year, working hours, location and condition. The photographs cover the machine from all four sides, the cab, the engine, the undercarriage or tyres and the hour meter. Our aim is to give the clearest possible picture to a buyer who has to decide without seeing the machine. If you would like additional photographs or video, you can ask on WhatsApp.

What we check for remote purchases

• Engine: Running sound, smoke colour, crankcase blow-by, oil and coolant condition.
• Hydraulics: Leaks on cylinders and hoses, pump noise, movement speeds.
• Structure: Cracks or weld marks on the boom, arm, chassis and body.
• Undercarriage and tyres: Wear on tracks, rollers and chains; tyre tread depth and damage.
• Documents: Consistency of serial number, chassis number and ownership documents.

On request we can also arrange an additional inspection by an independent inspection company.

Shipping to Africa

Depending on their size, machines are shipped by RoRo vessel, on a flat rack or dismantled in a container. The machine is cleaned before shipment; some countries impose cleanliness and age requirements on imported used machinery. We check the import rules of the destination country (age limit, certificate of conformity, pre-shipment inspection and the like) together with you at the quotation stage. We take care of the export documents, the certificate of origin and the bill of lading; customs clearance and inland transport after the port of arrival are planned according to your own or your agent’s arrangements.

Machine and parts together

We recommend adding a filter kit, bucket teeth, hydraulic hoses and frequently replaced parts to the same shipment as the used machine. On a remote site, the lack of a single part can keep the machine waiting for weeks.
