BHD Self-Climbing Placing Booms

Mast-mounted placing booms (on a BMS mast) that climb with the building using a hydraulic cylinder. They can be installed in a lift shaft, a slab opening or on an external frame. Quick-connect components keep erection short, and both R (round) and Z-folding booms are available. For high-rise buildings, bridge piers and large foundations.

BHD Spider Placing Booms

Lightweight placing booms standing on four outriggers and moved from floor to floor by crane. They need far less set-up than climbing booms and take up little space on site. Thanks to the quick-connection system, the same bases (crawler, wheeled chassis, lattice tower, mast, slab platform) can be shared by all spider models.

Mounting / carrier options: crawler undercarriage, hydraulic outriggers, manual outriggers, wheeled chassis, slab / formwork platform, lattice tower, mast section 600 × 600 × 6000 mm, tower adapter 600 × 600 mm.

BHDP Crawler Placing Booms

A mobile solution combining all the features of the spider boom with a crawler undercarriage. It moves around the site without a crane and stays stable on uneven ground. Its low unfolding height lets it work in low-ceiling areas such as tunnels, metro stations, car parks and basements; combined with a trailer pump it forms an economical pump-and-placing system for long linear work such as diaphragm walls and tunnels. It can also be detached from the crawler and used as a free-standing, crane-placed distributor.

  • 7.5 kW electric motor
  • Optional diesel or petrol auxiliary engine (Stage V)
  • 7" touch screen (IP66) + HBC radio remote control
  • New cabin design, easy access to internal components
  • Universal quick coupling
  • Stays stable on uneven ground
  • About 500 kg lighter than the previous design (catalogue information)
BHDP 22Z4 — 22 m reach · Z-type, 4 sections — technical table and images

BMS Boom Masts and Equipment

The mast system on which the climbing booms work. Standard lengths of 3 m, 6 m and 9 m, with the DN 125 concrete line running inside the mast. A hydraulic climbing device integrated into the mast profile raises the mast step by step. It can be mounted on formwork, an external frame or a lattice tower, free-standing or supported from the slab.

Mounting / carrier options: on formwork, on external scaffolding, on a lattice tower, free-standing, slab-supported.

Why BOOM?

Control software developed in-house

BOOM develops the control software of its crawler booms with its own software team. This reduces dependence on outside suppliers and allows faster solutions to problems reported from the field.

Everything on one screen – control screen

Everything on one screen: engine, crawler and boom status and operating data are monitored on the same page.

Alarm page – control screen

Alarm page: sensor, valve or motor faults appear on the screen and the operator can intervene quickly.

Settings page – control screen

Settings page: boom speeds are adjusted within min./max. limits while the machine is working; crawler calibration is carried out here.

Safety and low operating cost

  • A design that puts safety first for the whole site; with the radio remote control the operator sees the pouring point at close range.
  • Standard, low-maintenance components reduce service costs.
  • Modular design and quick-connection elements; short assembly and formwork cycle times.
  • On the crawler series, an alarm screen that makes fault diagnosis easier and boom speeds that can be adjusted during operation.

Frequently asked questions

Which projects is a placing boom suitable for?

Self-climbing booms are preferred for high-rise buildings, core walls and bridge piers; spider booms for floor slabs and medium-sized buildings; crawler booms for tunnels, metro works, car parks and precast plants; and manual distributors for simple pours such as slabs and columns. If you share your project drawings, we will determine the suitable model together.

How is it installed, and what is required?

Self-climbing booms are installed on a BMS mast, in the lift shaft, a slab opening or on external scaffolding, and rise floor by floor with a hydraulic cylinder. Spider booms are positioned by crane and work with a counterweight and an outrigger set. Crawler booms move on their own tracks. Quick-connection elements shorten assembly; we provide technical support during installation.

Is operator training provided?

Yes. At delivery we plan training for your operators in the use of the machine, the radio remote control, daily checks and basic maintenance. The place and scope of the training are settled at the quotation stage.

How are spare parts and service provided?

We handle spare part requests through Abidjan and Istanbul; stock planning can be arranged for wear parts (pipes, elbows, end hoses, seals, etc.). For service needs, remote support and, when necessary, a site visit are organised.

What is the delivery time?

The delivery time depends on the model, configuration, production schedule and port of destination. We state the current lead time in writing together with your quotation.

How are the machines shipped?

Most models are designed to fit into a standard 40′ OT or 40′ OT HC container; complete self-climbing sets can also be carried by truck. The shipping information for each model is given in its technical table.
