Delivery and commissioning

Structural inspections

Under the TS EN 12001:2012 standard and the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, periodic structural inspection is mandatory for concrete pumps and placing booms.

“Concrete pumps and placing booms, including their delivery lines, shall be inspected for operational reliability by a competent person at least once a year. For machines aged 0–5 years, the structural inspection is repeated every 1,000 operating hours or every year. If 1,000 hours are exceeded before the year is up, the structural inspection must be repeated without waiting for the year to end. For concrete pumps / placing booms aged 5–10 years the interval is 500 operating hours or 1 year, again with operating hours taking priority. Hour meters must always be kept working and must not be altered. Machines older than 10 years must be inspected again as soon as 250 operating hours are reached; if the hours are not reached, the inspection must be repeated within 1 year.”

Training
