Concrete Pumps

A concrete pump takes concrete from the batching plant or the truck mixer and delivers it to the formwork without interruption. A correctly chosen pump shortens pouring time, reduces labour and helps the concrete to be placed evenly. At MOTTO we have many years of sales and service experience with CIFA concrete equipment; we supply the concrete pumps of the Italian manufacturer CIFA together with their spare parts and service, and ship from Istanbul to customers in Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Depending on the requirement, we also source pumps from other brands.

Types of concrete pump

Truck-mounted (mobile) concrete pump. The pumping unit and a folding boom are mounted on a truck chassis. It travels to site under its own power, sets up quickly and places concrete wherever the boom can reach. It is the most widely used type for housing, bridges, industrial buildings and municipal works. The CIFA Steeltech series (K36L, K38L, K42L, K48, K50L, K56L) are the main models in this group.

Truck mixer pump. A mixer drum, a concrete pump and a short boom are combined on one vehicle. It suits companies that want to complete small and medium pours with a single vehicle, without a separate truck mixer. The CIFA Magnum series belongs to this class.

Stationary (trailer) concrete pump. A pump without a boom that works through a pipeline. It is used in high-rise buildings, tunnels and distant points a boom cannot reach. It can be towed on a trailer or installed permanently on site, with diesel or electric drive options.

What to look at when choosing a pump

1. Reach: Building height, the distance of the pour from the pump and any obstacles determine the boom length.
2. Hourly output: Pour volume and the feed rate of the batching plant must be considered together; if the pump is faster than the plant, the benefit is limited.
3. Concrete pressure: Long horizontal lines and high vertical pours require higher pressure.
4. Chassis and road conditions: The truck brands common in the destination country, access to service, left- or right-hand drive and emission rules all affect the choice of chassis.
5. Spare parts availability: A regular supply of wear parts such as pipes, elbows, pistons and wear plates matters at least as much as the machine itself in keeping the pump working.

Export and shipping

We ship concrete pumps from Istanbul, port of loading basis. Depending on the size of the machine, RoRo, flat rack or another suitable loading method is planned; export documents, the certificate of origin and the documents required by the destination country are settled at the quotation stage. We share our deliveries to markets such as Ghana, Burundi and Côte d’Ivoire on our blog.
